With technology evolving at an alarming rate, more and more concepts that were once thought to be impossible, are now becoming a reality.
A big contributor to the rise of new technologies is of course the Internet, with the ability to access information from all around the globe and communicate with anyone instantly. Enter the Internet of Things. Most new devices are made with Internet capabilities to allow for better automation, more control and new features and gadgets that we didn’t know we needed.
Having everything connected to the Internet has created this bizarre (but really awesome) global nervous system of connected devices thats evolves as technology develops.
Take 3D fax machines for example. They enable someone to scan an object or send a file to another machine to be printed out as an exact copy. We can now send objects almost instantly. This could have huge implications on the way we buy and send things, just like telecommunications accelerated new technologies and made others possible.
Like your reference to possible future change in the form of 3D fax machines. Not only will it impact on how individuals interact with each other but will change the way we think and treat patents. Here’s an interesting article by The Conversation, if you’re interested in reading more. (http://theconversation.com/how-3d-printing-threatens-our-patent-system-52665)
